# Claim a Business Username

> Create a searchable username for your WhatsApp business phone number.

## What is a business username?

A business username is a searchable identifier for a WhatsApp business phone number, such as `ycloud.service`. After the username becomes active, customers can use it to search for and find the associated business phone number on WhatsApp.

A business username does not replace your phone number or WhatsApp display name. It provides customers with another way to find your business.

<Info>
  Meta reviews every business username before it becomes visible to customers.
</Info>

## Username requirements

Your business username must meet all of the following requirements:

* Be between 3 and 35 characters long
* Use only English letters (`a-z`), numbers (`0-9`), periods (`.`), and underscores (`_`)
* Contain at least one English letter
* Not contain non-English characters
* Not begin or end with a period, or contain consecutive periods
* Not begin with `www`
* Not end with a domain suffix such as `.com`, `.org`, `.net`, `.int`, `.edu`, `.gov`, `.mil`, `.us`, `.in`, or `.html`

Usernames are compared without regard to letter case, but periods and underscores are treated as distinct characters. For example, `myID` and `myid` are considered the same username, while `myid`, `my.id`, and `my_id` are different usernames.

## Claim a business username

1. Log in to YCloud and go to **WhatsApp Manager > WhatsApp Accounts**.
2. Select the business phone number you want to manage, and open its **Settings**.
3. On the **Business Profile** page, locate **Business username** and click **Edit**.
4. Enter the username you want to claim. The form checks each naming requirement as you type.
5. Click **Submit for review**.
6. Wait for Meta to complete the review. Once approved and activated, the username appears in the Business Profile and customers can use it to find the phone number.

<Note>
  Submitting a username does not make it visible immediately. It becomes available to customers only after Meta approves it.

The example shows the form before submission; passing the format checks does not mean Meta has approved the username.

## Edit or delete a business username

To change an active username, return to the **Business username** section and click **Edit**, then submit the new username for review.

To remove the active username, click **Delete**. After it is removed, customers can no longer use that username to search for the phone number.
