# Journey components

Use Journey components to define who enters a Journey, what happens next, and when to stop or measure follow-up.

Start with a [Trigger](/en/documentation/journey/components-and-features-introduction/trigger), then connect the actions and rules that support your customer outcome.

<CardGroup cols={2}>

    Define when contacts enter a Journey and which Sender the Journey uses.
  </Card>

  <Card icon="file-lines" title="Send template" href="/en/documentation/journey/components-and-features-introduction/send-template">
    Send a WhatsApp template message to contacts in the Journey.
  </Card>

  <Card icon="file-lines" title="Message status rule" href="/en/documentation/journey/components-and-features-introduction/message-status-rule">
    Route contacts based on whether they read or reply to a template message.
  </Card>

  <Card icon="file-lines" title="Add tag" href="/en/documentation/journey/components-and-features-introduction/add-tag">
    Add selected tags to contacts who reach a step.
  </Card>

  <Card icon="file-lines" title="Wait" href="/en/documentation/journey/components-and-features-introduction/wait">
    Delay the next step for a defined period.
  </Card>

  <Card icon="file-lines" title="Goal and Exit Rule" href="/en/documentation/journey/components-and-features-introduction/goal-and-exit-rule">
    Track completion and remove contacts from remaining steps when they meet your exit conditions.
  </Card>
</CardGroup>

## Choose the right flow

1. Use a **Trigger** to define who enters the Journey.
2. Use **Send template** to send a WhatsApp message.
3. Use **Wait** or a **Message status rule** to control the next action.
4. Use **Add tag**, a **Goal**, or an **Exit rule** to support your follow-up process.

For the full setup process, see [Create a Journey](/en/documentation/journey/create-a-journey).
