Use this process to migrate a WhatsApp Business App coexistence number from another Business Solution Provider (BSP) to YCloud.
Plan a maintenance window before starting. Disconnecting the current Business Platform connection interrupts Cloud API access until the number completes the new YCloud coexistence registration.

Migration checklist

Before migrating the number, make sure that:
  • The number can receive and verify a six-digit verification code, or the phone can scan a QR code.
  • The user performing the migration has the required access to the relevant Meta business portfolio or WhatsApp assets.
  • The company website is online, correct, and publicly accessible.
Meta may verify the website entered in Meta Business Suite > Business Info. If the website information is incorrect or the site cannot be reached, the account may be taken offline or disabled after the number migration is complete.

How to migrate a coexistence number

1. Disconnect the number from Cloud API

Open the WhatsApp Business App on the phone, then go to: Settings > Account > Business Platform > Disconnect Account The Business Platform page should display the name of the current BSP. Tap Disconnect Account to remove the current Cloud API connection.

2. Transfer the number from and back to the WhatsApp Business App

Back up the business’s chat history before transferring the account. In the WhatsApp Business App, go to: Settings > Chats > Chat backup Tap Back up to save the chat history to Google Drive on Android or iCloud on iPhone. Next, transfer the business account from the WhatsApp Business App to WhatsApp Messenger:
  1. Open WhatsApp Messenger.
  2. Sign in with the same phone number used in the WhatsApp Business App.
  3. Agree to transfer the chat history.
Then transfer the account back to the WhatsApp Business App:
  1. Open the WhatsApp Business App.
  2. Enter the same phone number.
  3. Select Transfer chats.
  4. Set up the Business Profile.
Confirm that the chat backup has completed successfully before transferring the account. Do not proceed if the business cannot access the backup or the verification method for the phone number.

3. Complete coexistence registration again

After the previous relationships have been removed, complete the new Embedded Signup flow through YCloud.
WhatsApp Business APP Coexistence option in Create Channel.

Select Get started under WhatsApp Business APP Coexistence.

Follow Onboard WhatsApp Business App to register the number for coexistence with YCloud.
